HISTORY: Matt was born to Dean Winchester and Hayle Winchester in the years of the virus. He got lucky that they were able to be safe at that time. He grew up to idol his father since there was nothing else to do. He gained a cousin some years later as well as a sister. He treated his cousin like a brother though, the both of them growing up together. He made sure Jessie and Hannah were taken care of. That he claimed was his job. Even when Dean was gone on hunts.
At first he didn't understand why his dad was always gone. Yet he was told that he had to be gone. It was for the families good that Dean was out there in the world. For weeks to months at a time he was alone to take care of Jessie and Hannah. What Matt didn't know was why Jess was with them in the first place. He knew Jess was a cousin. That he was his uncle Sam's. But Dean always said to him that Sam was gone. Had died. But in the end Matt felt that was not true.
Matt eventually convinced his dad that he should hunt too with his dad. For a while even he did hunt around in the impala with him. However, he had a bad feeling that Dean wouldn't always be there. Sometimes he'd hear his dad talk about finishing things once and for all. Matt didn't know what he meant. Eventually Jess was drawn in under his wing to help hunt. Now Matt has a bad feeling there was a reason for that. Yet a part of him didn't want to know why. Unfortunately he was going to find out the hard way.
