Shutting the Cadillac door, Eli gazed upward at the building before her; through the windows she could distinguish the dark outline of several bookcases, all crammed with various novels and magazines. “Little Ferry Public Library,” she murmured to herself, ascending up the front steps and kicking the snow from her boots. Inside was pleasantly warm and virtually deserted. Aside from the staff the hunter only discerned three other occupants. The library was attractive, obviously up-to-date and well decorated. She had the growing suspicion that the unpredicted death that had transpired merely a day ago had frightened the towns residents.
There had been numerous cases of unexplained phenomena in the past week and the most recent had occurred at this very location. Proclaimed innocents were unexpectedly murdered, fictitious individuals from books and movies had been sighted, and creatures that originated from well-known myths and legends were reported to local government officials. The documented accounts perplexed Eli; not one appeared to be associated with another.
She ambled about the library, allowing her senses to expand, scouring every nook and cranny for any odd behavior or unusual impressions left on a book or table. Everything appeared to be safe and sound; Eli could not detect any supernatural activity. She frowned slightly. Perhaps it was time to question the employees present.

Nearby a man in a employers outfit was putting books back onto a shelf. Most of there interest was not on the books really, but more on the girl in the library. The male employer raised a brow at her as he mildly stared over at her. She was an interesting person to say the least. Something though seemed to continue to draw his gaze towards her. Maybe it was the fact that she was pretty. Or maybe, just maybe it was something more than that. Something much deeper and stronger. Yet the man didn't let it bother him to harshly.
However, while shelving the books he tried to draw closer. He even thought of asking her if she needed anything just so he could talk to her, to find out her intentions, what she was up to. Always those sorts of things intrigued him. Then again interesting things was a past time. However, he couldn't blow what cover he did have. He had to be subtle, smooth, and confident. It wasn't too hard for him, but at the same time, one could never be to sure.
"Can't I help you with something?" he finally asked.

Eli blinked and directed her attention to the man beside her. He was dressed in the employee uniform-which was similar to the woman’s who was occupying the front desk-shelving the books that had been carted. She could not sense anything out of the ordinary regarding the worker, however the hunter was an instinctively guarded individual. Remaining wary of her surroundings, Eli retrieved a badge from her pocket. “I would like to inquire you as well as your colleagues on the murder that occurred approximately one day ago,” she replied coolly, exhibiting her FBI identification card, which referred to her as Hannah Delacroix. She was not proud of misrepresenting her identity, although her profession often required her to be insincere; as long as it got the job done.
Sliding the badge back into the safety of her coat, Eli waited patiently for his response. She aspired to find the solution to the abnormal incidents occurring in Little Ferry before any more casualties or worse.
Glancing at the staff member, she frowned slightly. A sudden wave of Déjà vu washed over, as if she had encounter him previously. She sighed inwardly, disregarding the thought; after all she had never visited this town before now.

Gabriel didn't even flinch at the sight of the FBI badge. In all honesty he was more amused than anything. This girl was cute in so many playful ways. He could tell that she wasn't a FBI official, but for now he would play nice and pretend that he had no idea in the first place. He was good at playing dumb, even though he wasn't really at all. Heck he was far from being stupid. No one else knew it, but he was an angel, and not just any angel, an Arch Angel. One who was Messenger of God gone rogue.
"Oh you do eh." he said with interest. He was bound and ready to play his part. After all, all good beings were supposed to play there parts in the grand scheme of things. However, he too was so called Loki so in that sense he had to play his part as the trickster, the jokester, the one who'd get a good one up other peoples skirts and blow them away. He then continued with a good nature smile to her, "So how may I help a sweet and daring lovely lady like you?"

Disregarding his choice adjectives, Eli stared unblinkingly into his own gaze, arching a brow; this particular employee appeared to be a tad bit cocky. “Did you happen to be familiar with the individual who had been unlawfully murdered?”
The murder had occurred roughly around five o’ clock in the afternoon, exactly half an hour prior to closing. According to the article located in the newspaper not a soul had been aware of anything peculiar before or after the killing. The body was situated precariously at the back of the building, concealed by a bookcase; a small group of children had discovered it.
The young woman was not certain if this particular situation correlated with the other oddities in this small town. There were countless deaths that were gang related or the cause of double lives; however the library was an unusual place to take the life of another, not to mention during daylight hours. It would be incredibly difficult for an ordinary human to do so, which led Eli to believe the supernatural was undeniably involved. After all, the security cameras had not recorded the incident, despite the fact one was positioned right over the precise location it had transpired.
Quickly, she gave the man a once over. Eli could not shake the sense of familiarity; it was incredibly frustrating.

Gabriel found it cute and frustrating at the same time that she was targeting him already. Especially with the gaze she had been giving him. He didn't like being the one under the magnifying glass. That was more his job. To watch the little human ants, and if they got out of line too much, fry them. That was more his ammo. However, something about this girl struck him as interesting. That was for sure. In the grander scheme of things she was not worthy of being baited yet. Played with maybe, but not hook, lined, and sinker in.
"I may have known them. Then again I may not of. I have met so many people that have come in and out of this place than you could possibly imagine. After all I work here so I should see a lot of people. Outside of that, if I did know them, i wouldn't of known them well. The only thing I can say about the person that came in was, they came in here a lot. A regular book worm if you ask me. Didn't give much of anyone else the time of day. Then again they were not very social, and even when they were they were a bit nasty sometimes to some of the people. not outright mean but just a bit moody. The person may have made someone mad or something. But I don't know. I am just a staff worker here after all not a CSI investigator." he commented.

“I see,” Eli responded, disappointed. He appeared to be an honest man; at least she did not get the impression he had been insincere. She sensed nothing extraordinary regarding the employee before her and she would have advanced onto the individual lounging at the front desk, however she wanted to do a thorough investigation. Although there seemed to be no evidence at the crime scene, the young woman believed there had to be a sign, even if that sign was small.
“On the day of the murder, had you by chance witnessed anything that would be regarded as out of the ordinary?” She continued to interrogate him, pining for a lead. There had to be someone—anyone—that had caught a glimpse of the murderer or at least had an encounter that would be considered peculiar. The majority of—if not all—the paranormal incidents she had delved into over the years had eyewitnesses.
Generally there were prior indications of the supernatural or at any rate a back story that would ultimately explain the presence of a spirit or haunting. Eli had explored the towns past, including old newspaper clippings, historical texts, and the murders recorded. Even after all the research she came across nothing of importance or assistance. The whole set of circumstances baffled her usually quick-witted mind.

Gabriel looked at the woman with curiosity. He had to wonder why she was so determined to get answeers. His feeling she was one of those fangled police types, or something much worse. Like a hunter. Hunters he knew. had entanglements with a few that thought they could have pinned him down, but in the end just lost him. Now here there may be another one stepping on his proverbial toes. Well if that was the case, he had to make sure she stayed off his scent well. Not to mention any trail he'd leave. He gave her another sweet smile.
"Nope, nada. Sorry sweetheart. It was pretty normal around here. To my knowledge at least. However, I could be wrong. You may want to ask around to find out. All I do is stack the books. Maybe if you check the security cams you might find something. Or maybe if you ask the front desk, they may know something. Sorry that I can't be of much more help than that. Your welcome to look around though of course at your leisure. If their is anything I can do else for you..." he commented trying to be as kind as he could.
