Night had settled on the town. Up above the stars gleamed like diamonds, the moon casting its pale glow on the streets below. Eli halted at the curb, craning her neck in order to peer down the long stretch of road as the lights to her Cadillac faded into the darkness. Sighing, she wiped the beads of sweat from her face, the wintry breeze pleasant against her skin. Catching her breath, she sprinted after the runaway vehicle, shaking the snow from her boots and shedding her coat.
She had been investigating a peculiar incident that had transpired approximately three days ago, questioning the locals who had been bystanders, assembling the pieces to complete the puzzle. The young woman had left her Cadillac in the parking lot for a mere ten minutes and when she returned the car drove away on its own accord. It kept just out of arms reach, allowing her to get into close proximity only to speed off before her fingers got the chance to touch its cool surface.
The hunter had lost track of time since the game began, her muscles taut and aching, lungs burning as she ran. It obviously wanted Eli to pursue it, her curiosity fueling her determination to keep up.
Eli came to an abrupt halt. The Cadillac sat silently across the street, the subtle rumbles of the motor echoing in her ears; hastily she darted onto the pavement. Two beams of light immediately flooded her vision, virtually blinding her.
A car was flying directly toward her.

“Get down!” a voice yelled from nowhere as person appeared from out of thin air and knocked Eli off her feet and to the ground. They had just barely hit the ground before a car rushed by at a high speed, which if it had hit Eli it would have severely injured her than a few bumps and bruises from the hard ground.. They stayed pressed close to the ground until the car sped down the road and out of sight. Slowly the person on top of Eli sat up once the loud roar had died down. They surveyed the area it looked all clear, and in the dim street lights it was revealed that Eli’s savior was a young woman. The young woman had rather long hair that covered most of her face and in the horrible lighting it made it harder to see her face. As she had sat up snow fell from her head and down onto her neck and the front of her coat. It seemed when she knocked Eli out of the way she had driven the two of them into a small snow bank. Which had thankfully softened their landing as she was all too familiar what it was like to hit the pavement.
“Are you alright?” she addressed Eli as she tried to asses her state o f being without touching her. She did not want to intrude on her personal space any more than she had to just a moment before. She also extended a hand offered help to Eli sit up instead of having to lie in the cold and wet snow. Despite the fact that she seemed to be covered in it herself though it was slowly felting off her skin, which was warmer than normal thanks to the combination of adrenaline and the cold making her body heat up a little more than normal.

Winded, Eli cringed, wiping the snow from her face. Although cold, the ice felt rather pleasant against her skin; however the hunter was not fond of ingesting it. She spat on the ground, sickened by the snow that had managed to contaminate her mouth. Numerous people, animals, and even vehicles could have tainted what she just coughed up and swallowed. The thought was enough to repulse her.
She gratefully grabbed a hold of the offered hand, brushing the snow from her now damp clothing. “I greatly appreciate your assistance,” she replied. Only a mere second deficiency and Eli could have been severely injured—without doubt. The young woman had been foolish to hastily cross a street; jaywalking no less. Not only had she placed her life in danger, she had also jeopardized the life of the woman who had saved her. “I am in your debt.”
Glancing at the Cadillac, Eli sighed inwardly as her car plunged down the street into an unnaturally silent residential area. No streetlamps lit the road, no breeze could be felt, only an eerie quiet overwhelmed her senses; there seemed to be no sight of life. A shiver ran the length of her spine, but she harnessed her fear, converting it into an intense determination to pursue her haywire automobile and bring this mystery to an end.

"As long as you're ok, then it's fine." she told her, she was used to jumping around and pushing people out the way. As it seemed to happen a lot on the job everything would be running smoothly until she noticed and innocent bystander in the way. She usually didn't think about her actions and just moved. But this time the woman she had saved did not seem like the others she was focused and aware, unlike the other people she had saved before they always had that 'deer-in-the-headlights' sort of look on them. Shiloh found it humorous as well as annoying at times.
"So I take it your ride is gone?" she asked making small talk. She was not entirely sure why she was even doing it but she had felt a twitch from her left eye which at times served as a 'gut-feeling' to her. Most of the time it was spot on about detecting supernatural things. So she took the hint and hopefully chatting up her blond friend she would get another lead on her current job. She had been in town for a few days but she was having rotten luck finding clues on the case.
The lack of success had made her quite annoyed with herself as she was usually able to scourge some sort of small lead that panned out. Not this time she was finding next to nothing, and it was bothering her, was she doing something wrong? She had constantly asked herself. Maybe she overlooked something. Whatever it was she desperately hoped that her twitch was leading her in the right direction.
