general information
FULL NAME: Elysia Gallagher O'Broin

• • TOSSED ABOUT I’M LIKE A SHIP ON THE OCEAN,
physical narrative
FACE CLAIM: Raluca
SKIN: Mostly pale, but can sometimes get a little color on sunny days--usually she just burns though. There are also scars on her wrists from her time in the asylum; the doctors had decided she needed to be strapped down and she'd struggled until the restraints dug into her skin. She usually wears things on her lower arms to hide them.
EYES: Clear blue. People call them eerie because they're so translucent, but that's mostly because she's half focused on the future instead of the present most of the time. Should she ever manage to pull herself out of it, they might be described as pale blue, but for now they're the color of running water.
HAIR: Blonde that can get wavy and slightly curly after being wet. Most of the time it's in tangles since she goes days without brushing it--but never a bath! She baths once a day, even if it's in a river.
HEIGHT: 5'7 1/2". She supposes she's a little tall for a girl, but not so tall that she makes all the boys nervous. Only the ones who are her height or shorter.
BODY TYPE: Slender, toned, and maybe just a little curvy thanks to her heritage. Her wandering the country on foot and uncomplicated diet has kept her fit and healthy while she searches for the Winchesters. People stare at her for wandering around barefoot, but she's been at the transient game for so long now that they're tough and calloused; she's also rather strong for someone who looks like a pixie, so she's managed to defend herself quite well for a while now.
• • I SET A COURSE FOR WINDS OF FORTUNE,
character behavior
LIKES:
-Reading Classics; you know, like Dostoevsky and Tolsty.
-Snow; but only when bedecked in the proper gear--shoes included.
-Thunderstorms; especially if there's rain.
-Confounding People With Her Slang; have you ever seen the expression on a person's face when you threaten to banjax their boat? It never gets old.
-Cats; especially the bitty black ones.
-Traditional and Punk Irish Music; she's become increasingly fond of The Tossers lately...
-Sean-Nos Dancing; her parents used to take her to lessons back in Ireland before the move.
-Writing; particularly horror.
-Sunflowers; they're just so bright and big!
DISLIKES:
-Shoes; so restricting...plus, she didn't wear any at the asylum anyways.
-The Dark; long nights at the asylum when sleep alludes you will do that to a lass.
-Demons; for more than the obvious reasons.
-Dogs; she was bit by one as a child.
-Needles; no tranqs for her, thank you.
-Doctors; and they're silly white coats too.
-Enclosed Spaces; those padded rooms are smaller than you would think.
-The Headaches Associated with Her Visions
STRENGTHS:
-Able to slip in and out of rooms/buildings unnoticed; people tend to ignore the homeless these days.
-Confuse people with her strange way of speech; it's the slang what does it.
-Resourceful; despite the fact that her book smarts ended with high school learning, she has enough street smarts to escape just about any situation.
-Is never in one place for very long; when Demons out to kill you and sisters thinking they're doing right by you, you tend to make yourself scarce.
-Cunning; she could charm a snake if she could be straight for more than a moment with that silver tongue of her's.
-Razor sharp wit/humor; the world could always use more jokes.
WEAKNESSES:
-Unable to differentiate between what she Sees and what normal people see half the time; sometimes she'll have whole conversations about what she Sees with people only to realize it's another vision.
-Stubborn; it'll get her killed one day.
-Sarcastic; another thing that will get her killed one day.
-Bad timing; ever walked into a room and wish you hadn't right that second? So does she.
-Nightmares; she relives the night her parents and brother were killed nearly every night. The lack of sleep has nearly addled her brain.
-Unintelligable when irritated; the cockney is strong with this one.
FEARS:
-Angels; if something can burn your eyes out with just it's present and kill your siblings with a touch, chances are it's a little more terrifying than a Demon.
-Visions; every one adds another piece to the puzzle that is the Future and breaks her heart even more.
-Needles; again, no tranqs.
-Padded Rooms; and the jackets that come with them.
-The Dark; those padded rooms get so dark at night...sometimes she thinks the Demons have come back to get her. She likes places with alot of star/light.
POWERS & ABILITIES: Is able to foretell the future and end of the world. She can also identify Angels by the faint glow of Grace that surrounds their vessals that she and few others can see; Demons...not so much.
• • BUT I HEAR THE VOICES SAY,
personal record
FAMILY:
Mother:
-Annabelle O'Broin (Forty-five at time of Death): Was previously a student of Greek mythology before marrying her father, and named her daughter after the Elysian fields.
Father:
-Richard O'Broin (Forty-nine at time of Death): Was a lawyer for a well-known firm after immigrating to America.
Older Brother:
-Collin O'Broin (Sixteen at time of Death): member of his high school's swim team and was really close with Elly. He was also the only one allowed to call her Elle.
Older Sisters:
-Rosline O'Broin (Twenty-six): College student studying psychology.
-Juliet O'Broin-Chang (Twenty-eight): Surburan housewife married to a US soldier.
-Elizabeth MacNamara (Thirty-three): Got her degree in the supernatural and married her old high school sweetheart after moving back to Ireland.
HISTORY: Elly was born and raised in Ireland until the beginning of her early teens, when her family picked up and immigrated to the United States so her father could take a job at a renowned law firm. Even before the big move, she was a bit of an odd duck in her family because of her visions and aversion to people she termed 'Demons', and it only seemed to get worse after the move. Worried, her parents shuffled her from psychiatrist to psychiatrist, looking for a cure for their unbalanced daughter before giving up and keeping her at home and home schooling her. Despite the fact that she was pleased with this sudden turn of events, Elly could feel the embarassment radiating off her older sisters. She knew what their friends called her, but hadn't thought they cared all that much since they acted the same at home.
Around her thirteenth year, Elly had a vision of her brother, Collin, getting possessed by a demon and massacring the rest of her family. Unable to believe it was true, she hid the information from the rest of her family in the hopes that it was a lie. Collin would never let something like that make him hurt them, right? She got her answer on the night in question, when his eyes went black and he brutally murdered her mother and father while her sisters were out.
After that, her sisters had her comitted to an aslyum where she was continuously assaulted by visions of the furture, the end of the world, and two brothers whose fates were out their hands. When she turned eighteen, she left the asylum and became a transient, wandering from city to city looking for the two brothers to see if she could warn them of their fates so that they may change them...until the Cage was opened and Lucifer was set free.
Elly isn't exactly crazy, but the night she witnessed her parents and brother die aren't exactly things to be taken lightly either. Even without her accent, it's a little hard to understand half the nonsense she spouts anyways and people usually avoid her when they see her wandering around with no shoes on and a dreamy expression on her face. Her transient lifestyle keeps her from taking a permanent place of residence, both out of necessity and to keep her sisters from tracking her down to lock her up again, and she maintains it thanks to a considerable fortune left to her from her parents and grandparents. So while she may sleep outside from time to time, she can grab a cheap hotel every once in a while if she starts missing having a bed.
One of her favorite past times is breaking into empty houses to borrow a shower from the residents.
• • CARRY ON MY WAYWARD SON,
the face behind the mask
ALIAS: Ro
OTHER ACCOUNTS:
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN ROLEPLAYING: Whereabouts seven or eight years?
WHERE DID YOU FIND US: Maddie brought me over. :]
ROLEPLAY SAMPLE:
There was blood everywhere. Dripping down the walls, saturating the carpet, staining her nightgown...there didn't seem to be an end to it! How could so much of it come from only two people? It was like was like watching a bad horror movie where the splatter hit the ceiling and everything within a five foot radius.
Elly could swear she was crying as she watched her brother hack into their parents with the hatchet from their backyard with unholy glee. In her mind's eye, she could see the vision from two month's ago that had warned her about tonight, about the demon that would take possession of her favorite sibling and how he would come after her and her kin. She also saw the terrified look on her mother's face when he'd come into the livingroom and buried the hatchet in her father's neck and then come after her.
Unbidden, and terrified keen lodged itself in her throat and she moaned as she wiped the blood from her face, snapping his attention to her.
What had once been brilliant green eyes crinkled with his familiar smile as the demon grinned lopsidedly at her, yanking the hatchet from her mother's skull and swinging it over his shoulder as he sauntered over to her. "Ain't ye a pretty lass, eh?" he purred and crouched in front of her. His voice was as soft and lyrical as ever, but she could hear the difference; hear the darkness.[i/] "S'too bad yer gonna hafta die. Cannae have a Prophet runnin' around all willy-nilly, aye?"
He raised the hatchet above his head to strike, and Elly couldn't even find the breath to scream as it began it's descent. Clear blue eyes screwed shut as she waited for the blow, but snapped them open a second later when it was he who screamed instead.
Everything seemed to be bathed in a golden light, and the lights were flashing until they broke. Collin screamed and dropped the hatchet to clutch at his ears, as if to block out some terrible sound, and Elly distantly thought it was odd because all she heard was a voice commanding him to stop. Suddenly the light converged in front of him and the blonde beheld a being so beautiful that she had tears streaming down her cheeks.
He turned to her briefly, an acknowldgement of her presence, before he returned his aloof gaze to her brother. "You shall not harm this child," he said once more, and it sounded as if a hundred choristers were singing at once.
Collin hissed at him and went to rush the being despite the fact that his eyes were starting to burn in their sockets, only to drop as soon as the being touched him with a shining hand. Moments after that, the being was gone, leaving her alone amongst the wreckage of her home with only the knowledge that she had just met an Angel and that the world was doomed.
