She cried in pain as she tried to hop to the tree, and lean on it. She tried to walk but her ankle would refuse to walk, it hurt so badly. She had to get away fast, before the demon came and take her. She was afraid, and weak she couldn’t do anything for herself, or anybody, she was just as useless as a baby. She hopped on her one foot, but completely lost balance and fell, she began crawling on her knees, and sobbing at the pain, she hated it. She stopped and looked down at the ground, and cried, she let the tears sweep into the ground, and dissolve, then she tried to get up, and hop on her leg again, and this time she kept balance.
She hoped, and stopped to see two demons standing down the big forest, they were talking. She hid behind the tree, and breathed hard, she quickly looked over with her big blue eyes that weren’t the sea green she normally glowed, no she was in her scared and pain feeling so her eyes would turn a light blue. She looked until a demon saw her and yelled, she turned away, and tried to run with all the pain, and fear. She fell again, and began to crawl, then she stood up, but when she did she tipped over, and rolled down the hill that leads into the river.
She kept rolling, getting scratched, and cut by the vines, and thorns. She landed flat face on the hard ground, and laid there for a few minutes before regaining conciseness, she stood up, and coughed a bit, then she looked over to the edge and saw the water fall, she stood up slowly but then fell a little but got back up holding her left foot up. She walked over to the edge, and looked over to the edge. It was gorgeous all of it, the water and the sounds. It was a giant waterfall, she smiled big, but then she heard the demon scream “Hey girl!” she jumped, and turned around but fell backwards into the river.
Everything was moving in slow motion as she fell, she couldn’t hear if she did it was all slow, and blurry, her vision even blurred, she cried, and fell in, and let the angry water drag her away. It was so cold, and she didn’t like cold because it could kill her, after the whole fall, she laid on the grass, and breathe slowly, she was still sleeping, and dreaming that she was back at home.... The sun shone down brightly on the forest setting, which was pretty quiet except for the calls of the native birds and a few animals here and there. It was all very serene and calm. As if it was untouched by human hands in any way.
Crunch.
The natural harmony of the forest was disturbed by the loud crunching noises of breaking twigs. Which sounded slightly heavy, but it could have been a number of things smaller than a bear. Whatever it was continued walking noisily through the trees trying to make its way to the river's edge. Moments later it managed to emerge out of the trees and revealed a short woman, who from a certain distance could be mistaken for a girl.
Shiloh had managed to haul herself out of the dense forest. She rested her hands on her knees as she gave herself a moment or two catch her breath as she was panting for breath. She had come a long way and it had taken a lot of her energy. All the walking and climbing she did had made her work up a seat. She dragged an arm across her face as she wiped her face. She then slowly straighted herself and scanned her surroundings. She had managed to find the river that the ranger mentioned so she was halfway there. She had just hoped she could find the site where the 'abnormal' attack happened before sunset. Because it was twice as hard to find useful clues in the dark than in the daylight.
Not wanting to waste anymore time she started following the river upstream as the ranger she had questioned also instructed her to do.

Makaiya woke up to the sound of broken twigs, she was wet and in pain. She sat up and looked through the trees that were blocking the heat from the sun. She sighed, and quickly stood up, but not to fast due to her injury, she began hoping to the tree, to balance her self, then she began hoping through, seeing if she was safe from the demons for a while, she sighed, and sat down, but then she heard someone walking, she quickly hid under the leaves, and peeked through a little hole seeing who it was, it was a women, she seemed odd, but she might of been able to help her. She moved a bit, and then sat up the leaves falling off her bodies, but some stay, and stuck to her hair like glue.
Her big blue eyes lighten with curiosity, she quickly got up, and hop through the forest, and followed her to see what she was up to, she was so interested in her, she had to know what she was, and what she was doing her, but her guess she was a hunter...she squealed loudly in excitement, a hunter was here, and she would be saved again.. She smiled, and twirled around a bit, but she completely forgot her ankle was sprang, she fell, face first to the ground.

As Shiloh had been walking she heard a dull thump that sounded close by as if something fell over. She stopped in mid-step and did a quick assessment of her surroundings again. This time taking more time as she looked around, it was possible that she had missed something, which she hoped wasn't the case. But as she peered into the trees she did not see anything stir. If it wasn't an animal it could have possibly been a tree she thought to herself. Sometimes trees did happen to fall over by themselves after all the wear and tear of mother nature.
Since nothing had jumped out to attack her she turned around and continued on her way. Maybe it was a squirrel or something she told herself and she kept walking. She continued walking along the edge of the river but she made sure not to get to close as you could never tell how strong the banks were and one wrong step and you would find yourself dripping wet. Since wouldn't be any fun at all in this brisk mountain air Shiloh told herself.

She quickly got up, and sighed. Then she continued to follow her, but as she walked by she saw one of the demons, looking around on the other side, she then stopped, and hid behind a tree, and then she heard growling, and looked over to see a hellhound looking at her. She began moving back then she began running, she was in pain crying, but luckily she was skinny enough to squeeze into a log, and when she got far away back the log began ripping apart at the end, and the hound got closer, then someone whistled, and the hound snarled, and ran of to its master. Makaiya shaked in fear, not only demons were looking for her, hellhounds were too, and she sobbed.
She hugged her legs, and cried, then she began crawling out of the log, and went by the river bank, she washed her face, and the cut she got on her arm, she watch her silver glittering blood, and she washed it out, and ripped some of the bottom of her dress, and wrapped it around her wound, she then sighed, but then looked over to see her hunter. She stood up, and put her hand to her bottom lip, and watched her look at the river, but from where Makaiya was standing she was easily noticeable..

Shiloh felt a prickle on the back of her neck which then turned into a full on shiver that traveled down her spine. Someone is giving you the evil eye, said the thickly accented voice of Mama Gitani in her head . Mama Gitani had always said that when she had seen Shiloh shivered for no reason at all. As she thought about it, it definitely felt as if someone was looking at her, so she paused again to look around again.
She told herself that she was probably being silly but she couldn't shake the feeling. She turned to look behind her and that's when she saw someone behind her. To her it almost seemed as if the person appeared out of thin air and so she was a bit startled, but she managed to not jump. Upon closer inspection she noticed that the person was a woman, though what struck her as odd what that the woman was dressed ill-equipped for roaming around the forest. She also seemed dirty and injured. A spark went off in Shiloh's head. Was it possible that she was a victim of the abnormal attack? If she was then she could give Shiloh vital information about what she was hunting.
Shiloh needed to play it safe as you could never tell what sort of state victims were in. They could seem fine but then suddenly snap and attack you out of fear.
"Excuse me Miss." she called out loudly at the woman.

She smiled at the hunter, as she spoke to her, she slowly walked over, and stepped in front of her, she smiled, and her eyes became her happy green, but they weren’t sea green, she giggled, and place her hand behind her back, like a shy little school girl. “Hello, I am Makaiya, who are you miss” She said in a exciting cheerful tone, that was very loud but sweet, she eyed the women up and down, and smiled. She then twirled around a bit, and then went back to her, and grabbed her hands. “Are you a hunter? If so could you help me?” She said, in a cheerful voice, she was so excited and happy that she was going to be saved.
But when she wanted to speak again, she heard growling, she turned her head, and her hair flips along, and when she turned her eyes began the light blue, and a little slit, she pouted, and whimpered then she got in front of the hunter, and began backing a way, she wonder if she could see the hound, but she must of been human, cause stars could see the wings of angels, and the eyes of demons..Also hellhounds at that, she shook a bit, and her bottom lips quiver, but she quickly bit it to stop quivering. “H-h-h ell hound...” She whispered.

Shiloh had been thrown off guard by Makaiya's personality. She had not expected her to be so happy and bubbly, and she had barely managed to open to her mouth to speak in reply when they were interrupted. She had mentioned a hell hound near by which made a pit form in Shiloh's gut. If she could help it she would never cross a hell hound, but karma had a different opinion on Shiloh's life and she sadly had encountered a few here and there over the years. But at least she had come out of each of those encounters still intact though with a long of bandaging needed to be done afterwards.
"Where is it?" she asked as she mentally and physically prepared herself for the fight that most likely would ensue. She looked around trying to find signs of it while at the same time reaching to the back of her jeans where she kept her gun hidden in the waistband. Slowly pulling it out and then prepping it as she knew she was going to need all the bullets she had to keep the beast off of them.

She whispered to the woman “ In front of us” She said, she was shaking all over then she stopped, she had to be brave for once, and stop being the damsel in distress, but then a thought struck her, Hell hound couldn’t swim maybe if they pushed it in, or they jumped it, it would loose them or their scent, she got beside the hunter. “ The water, either jump, or push the creature in” She said, as she stared right at it, it was hideous but quite sad, on how they became such blood thirsty killers, she pouted, and sighed.
She snapped out of her thought bubble, and saw the hunter pull out a gun, she was going to fight it, and if she did she was going to have to fight too, she couldn’t sit back, and watch her die.

Shiloh then edged forward slowly; she did not to take a shot at the hell hound until she was sure that the shot would be effective. Or at least hit somewhere that would slow it down even for a moment. If not then she would just be wasting precious bullets. She looked around for any signs on the ground to see where exactly in front of them it was. It took her a moment, but then she spotted what looked like indents in the ground and she gripped the handle of her gun tighter.
“When I give the signal dive to the right as fast as you can.” She whispered quietly as she could to Makaiya as she brushed past her to take the front. She had a plan, but it was a spur of the moment plan. That she desperately hoped worked without any major hitches or then they would be pretty much up shit creek without a paddle.

Makaiya nodded at her order, then she moved a bit closer to the river, she wonder if her hunter friend would be alright, she shook a bit then she took a deep breath and looked at Shiloh. Then the hellhound moved closer, and then another one came out of the trees, and growled at them.
She saw another which was behind Shiloh but it was going towards her, she was taking a step back closer to the river, she was going to fall in, she wanted to yell at Shiloh to tell her that 2 more popped up, but she probably already knew that.

Shiloh had been focusing on moving slow towards the hell hound as she knew that making quick movements would make it attack before she was ready for it. She had barely taken a few steps when she heard twigs snapping, the sound sounded heavy and she felt her stomach drop. Shit, she swore to herself she knew without having to look that there was another one. It was just her luck that she would have to try and fend off two of them at the same time. Ignoring the strong impulse she had to sigh deeply at her predicament she focused her attention back onto her plan which now needed some heavy adjusting.
She was going to have to try and get the second hell hound to attack the first but to manage that she was going to have to use herself as bait, which she wasn’t particularly happy about. Part of it was because it was going to be incredibly dangerous to even attempt, and the other part was that she for some reason didn’t want to leave Makaiya alone and exposed while she was running around as bait. As it seemed like this was the perfect distraction plan.

Makaiya looked to Shiloh and whimpered a bit, she didn’t want her to get hurt; she had to do something and get rid of these hellhounds. She was getting someone else hurt, she looked to the river, and grabbed Shiloh, and jumped into the river. The water dragged them along like someone was tugging on them; Makaiya was getting wet all over again. She then woke up on shore, with Shiloh if they were wet the hellhounds wouldn’t track them down. She looked around and sighed, she wondered if this horrible nightmare will ever end, she wondered why they would want her so bad.
Shiloh was probably going to be very angry, but she save her life so she should at least be grateful that she did, Makaiya felt like a hero for once that she would be loved in the world, but this feeling was only going to last for a while. She stood up, and began waking Shiloh up, they had to move, then Makaiya groan a bit, because of her sprang ankle, it hurted a lot but she didn’t mind, she just had to make sure her new found friend was going to be okay. Shiloh had been about to attempt her crazy plan when she felt something tug on her and the next thing she knew she was falling. She hit the water pretty hard and the sudden cold temperature of the water shocked her. But she managed to remember to kick her legs and move her arms to try and keep her head above water. It was hard moving her body against the current of the river and the fact of her wet clothes made her heavier but she managed somehow. For a while it seemed to be working but her wet clothes kept trying to drag her down and sometimes she'd accidentally take in water.
Then everything went black.
Shiloh wasn't sure if she was awake or asleep but she felt like she was in a limbo between the two. She could feel and here things, but they seemed to far away and not real. She felt that she was laying on her side, but it was very hard. Worst bed ever she thought to herself. She also noticed that she was very cold and wet which made her even more uncomfortable. Then it felt like someone was shaking her to try and get her to get up, but she did not want to. She felt to tired, she tired to tell them that she wanted a few more minuets to sleep but her words only came out as a feeble grunt that was barely audible. She hoped that they understood her message.

She looked at the sleeping Shiloh then she stood up, hanging on to the tree, she whimpered at the pain, and then she sighed, and breathed slowly. Then she sat down on the branch, and stared at the water and smiled a bit. She then hopped over to Shiloh. She wondered why Shiloh wouldn't awake was she that tired? She sighed, and shook a bit. She wished she was somewhere warm, and comfortable. But she wasn't she was well here with a hunter, who was asleep and that wasn't good. She sobbed a bit.
